Community Support Services is . . .

. . . a merger of four vital program areas designed to help ensure that eligible citizens receive County services.

"We strive to improve citizens' self-sufficiency, health and safety through a wide array of quality services and community partnerships."

Veteran Services serves all Veterans and their families... not the VA.

Homeless Support Services serves persons living in Mecklenburg County who are homeless or at great risk of homelessness.

Project Safe Neighborhoods is a federally funded program working to keep our communities safe by eliminating gun violence. Administered by the U.S. Attorney's office, Project Safe Neighborhoods Task Force is comprised of members from state and local law enforcement, community groups, educational institutions and Mecklenburg County.

Veterans Services provides direct, in-depth, quality assistance to veterans of the military service, their widows, orphans and survivors, which could grant them initial -- or preserve existing -- benefit entitlements from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

The Women's Commission has a direct focus on employment, training, domestic violence services, and advocacy.
